*Storms Grew & Matured*

Great Plains Storm Chase

We chased near Springer and ArdmoreOK it is in south OK.   While chasing we first saw three storms grow and appear on radar, then went to their locations and saw them grow in person. It was amazing to see them mature before our eyes.  From a distance we were able to see the three towering storms, and distinguish the anvil and mammatus clouds.  Since the three storms were so close together we were able to drive into the core of a severe storm for a brief moment. We soon relocated into our prime location (Southeast system) to watch the most potential storm. We were able to watch the tail clouds form around the inflow of a storm, and saw a wall cloud form then watched it split and reform.  We saw a possible brief funnel cloud.  The storm was moving south which caused us to loose contrast and we were unable to see.  We arrived back at the hotel exhausted from a hard days work around 9:30pm, grabbed a bite to eat and headed to bed.
